2011 season begins

Kicked off the 2011 season this past Saturday night at US24 speedway in Lake Cicott, Indiana. 22 restrictor class machines on hand, Jerod was fortunate to have just two cars in his qualifying session and clocked in 4th quick. That set up a 2nd place finish in his heat race. He went on to pick up the checkers in the dash for cash. That put him on the pole of the feature, but some issues shuffled him back in the running order and he eventually retired from the event.

A chase angle from Bill Dunham in the non wing last chance race

JGRacing Video from GR race

Finally back to racing

After regretting not going to Fort Wayne, JGRacing was back on track February 5th in Grand Rapids. We had some new indoor setups we wanting to try. We made strides in the right direction and feel like we have room to still improve our program. This was a wing and non-wing event. Qualifying did not go well in either class due to an engine that would not fire without a push, which mean we took to the track with a cold engine both times. In the last chance races, we were able to win the non wing event and had to pull off during the winged event. The non wing a main was going very well and we had the car close to being dialed in. During a late caution, while running 4th, the brake completely boiled the fluid. Indoor racing is impossible and dangerous without brakes so we were forced to retire from the event. We had another problem in the wing feature that made us retire from that event as well. Even though the results don't show it, we were very pleased with the day.
